SpecMan4EPR Help: Pattern

Pattern is a group of Virtual Channels that is combined together and uses common state. Multiple states can be defined for a pattern. Alternatively pattern can consist of a single $pulse_engine_awg_channel$.

A state is a list of 'use/do not use' flags for every channel in the pattern. From PPL script any state can be selected. By changing the current state one can alternate the pulse command behavior. Phase cycling is one of the applications of the pattern states. States are defined in the CFP file.

Edit pattern parameters using Pattern Definition and Pulse Channels dialogs.

AWG channel state can not be altered from PPL. If state is on, the trace will be generated. If state is off there will be no AWG trace output.

The lead and trail offsets and other channels of a pattern can be alterated from the GUI by defining the pattern as movable. The ranges of modifications can be controlled. Flexible settings of the protection switch is typical application of movable patterns.
