For input SpecMan4EPR uses the unified edit control. Each control maintains limits, resolution as well as convenient value increment (step) of an input. By pressing arrows on a keyboard or clicking on the spin button, the value can be increased or decreased by one step. Simultaneous pressing of Ctrl 10-fold increases the step. Pressing of Shift-Control 100 fold increases the step. Pressing of Alt 10-fold decreases the step and pressing Shift-Alt 100-fold decreases the step. The step size can not be decreased below the control resolution. Most of control settings are displayed as a tool tip of the spin button.

The value is accepted only when user press spin buttons, keyboard arrows or ENTER. Typing a value does not change underlying parameter. The input can be canceled by pressing ESC key.

The control is switched between three visual modes by pressing Ctrl-U.

No spin buttons, unit is separated. Unit input is not necessary. Separate prefixes are accepted (type 500k to enter 500kHz). Full input with unit is also accepted.

The text in the edit box is displayed using three state-colors:

  • Black - correct input
  • Blue - input value is out of range
  • Red - incorrect input
