Pulse commands are the major part of the Pulse and AWG Engine and the only user interface to the underlying pulse hardware. Pulse commands define Pulse Programming Language statements (see Pulse statement topic for command syntax).

For convenience of operation, pulse commands are split into Patterns. This allows to group functionally similar Virtual Channels together and avoid patterns with large number of states.
