SpecMan4EPR is a spectrometer control software designed for pulsed and continuous wave electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) experiments. The software provides optimized, timed control of third-party devices that use open programming interfaces, including USB, COM, GPIB, and TCP/IP. Although the algorithms of the software are optimized for EPR, SpecMan4EPR can be applied to any other scientific areas.

SpecMan4EPR is flexible and efficient. There are no limitations on the number and type of connected devices or acquisition channels. All roles of devices are described in the configuration files. This allows the use of the same software for multiple spectrometers and experiments.

The interface of the program is designed to satisfy the most demanding experimental needs and, at the same time, to hide the underlying complexity. SpecMan4EPR's powerful pulse and arbitrary waveform generation engines translate a command-based description of pulse sequences into digital pulses or arbitrary waveform outputs. Customizable and looking like textbook examples, pulse sequence scripts allow even non-expert users to build complicated pulse experiments. This makes SpecMan4EPR an indispensable tool for EPR spectroscopy and imaging.
